The Solar Physics Division of the American Astronomical Society will hold its annual meeting June 5-8, 1989 near Laurel, MD. Abstracts are due April 7, 1989. The second Max '91 Workshop will be held in conjunction with the SPD Meeting on June 8-9. The first mailing has been sent out. If you would like to receive one please contact:

(or drust via Solarmail.) Studentship awards are available for allowing students to participate actively in the 1989 SPD Meeting.

A recent Ph.D. graduate is required (for about 2.5 years) to work on numerical modelling of magnetic structures in the solar atmosphere (network, loops, arcades etc.). Expertise in numerical methods, particularly for PDEs, is essential.
