The EIT Calibration rocket (EIT CalRoc) was successfully launched on 16 October 1997 from White Sands Missile Range. Initial results from this flight are available on the EIT Calroc Homepage:

Observers planning coordinated observing programs with the SOHO EIT should be advised that the next four weeks will be the optimal interval for programs requiring calibrated EIT data.
This item should have appeared in the previous special issue, but I did not receive it even though Dan Moses sent it on October 21. Submitters should be aware that e-mail is not 100% reliable.
