NAME
tstim -- self-test script for VELCAL package
USAGE
tstim
DESCRIPTION
TSTIM generates synthetic oscillation (velocity, intensity,
modulation), east calibration, and west calibration images.
Wide-band and narrow-band correction images are generated and
applied to the oscillation image. This corrupted image is then
converted to a three-phase intensity image to simulate the Fourier
Tach. Vcor processes the test image to obtain the velocity
corrected image, which is then compared to the input VIM image. If
the corrected image agrees with the original uncorrupted VIM image
with a standard deviation less than or equal to 0.01 m/sec, the
test is successful and the following message is returned to the
standard out
"!!! PASSED SELF-TEST!!!".
Otherwise, the test fails and the following is sent to the standard
out
"!!! FAILED SELF-TEST !!!".
The following steps are performed in the processing:
generate synthetic vim image
generate synthetic east and west calibration images
calculate wide-band correction image
calculate narrow-band correction image
convert input from VIM to VMI
add narrow-band effects to oscillation image
add wide-band effects to oscillation image
write laser phase into first 3 rows of oscillation image
convert corrupted image from VMI to III
call VCOR to calibrate velocity band of oscillation image
take difference between input velocity and calibrated velocity
take standard deviation of difference image
delete all temporary image files beginning with "tstim"
